Heliosphere show by The Dreamengine·헬리오스피어쇼 by 드림엔진

헬리오스피어쇼(Heliosphere show)는 공중곡예사(acrobat)가 거대한 헬륨풍선에 매달려 환상적인 공중 퍼포먼스를 펼치는 영국의 드림엔진(Dreamengine, UK)이라는 회사의 쇼입니다. 아직 국내에 소개된 적이 없는 헬리오스피어쇼(Heliosphere show)의 영상을 처음 접했을때, 바로 이거다 하는 생각이 들었습니다. 무엇이? 는 비밀입니다 :) 그들의 상상력이 부러울 따름입니다. 아무래도 사진보다는 영상을 보는게 이해가 빠를텐데요.

자료를 찾아보니 드림엔진(dreamengine)의 헬리오스피어 쇼(Heliosphere)는 1995년부터 전 세계 28개국에서 공연해왔으며, 1년에 평균 60여회의 공연을 진행해왔습니다. 곡예사는 허리에 안전장치를 하고 헬륨 풍선에 매달려 360도로 자유롭게 유영하며 고도의 공중퍼포먼스를 펼칩니다. 음악과 조명은 쇼를 더욱 극적이고 환상적으로 연출해줍니다. 헬리오스피어 헬륨풍선 하나당 4명의 스텝이 필요한데요. 공중곡예사 1명, 감독(Supervisor) 1명, 지상의 스텝 두명은 헬륨풍선 양쪽으로 연결된 와이어를 허리에매고 헬륨풍선의 이동과, 높이를 컨트롤합니다. 공연이 진행되는 동안 감독은 풍선을 계속 따라다니며 전체적인 공연의 흐름을 지휘하고 혹시 모를 안전사고에 대비합니다.

혹시 국내에서 시행할 수 있는 업체가 있지 않을까 해서 스테이지 디자인 쪽에 아는 분에게 여쭈어 보니, 국내에서 퍼포먼스를 카피하는 것은 바람직하지 않다는 것과 아웃풋도 어설플 확률이 90퍼센트 이상이라는 두가지 대답을 들었습니다. ;; 둘다 맞는 말입니다. 잠깐 제가 부끄러웠습니다 :)

하지만 사실인걸요 :)

아 ! 헬리오스피어의 Heliosphere 는 '태양풍의 영향이 미치는 태양 주변부'라는 의미의 천문학 용어입니다.

기가막힌 네이밍(Naming)이 아닐수 없습니다 :)

A huge helium-filled balloon rises and falls to a wistful musical soundtrack as its

aerialist tumbles and turns with balletic grace and beauty.The balloon is tethered

to the waist of two ground-based performers and so is a highly mobile, processional

piece. A spectacle to inspire, mystify and enchant any audience and to raise the

profile of any event.

Spiralling and spinning, the weightless Helionaut suspended beneath a helium balloon

explores the uncharted space between street level and rooftops. Using bi-directional

harness, trapeze or cloudswing, the aerialist has maximum range of movement. Two

ground crew harnessed to tether lines control the balloon speed, direction and

altitude.

On a calm day the Helionaut can fly down from the chimney tops and steal the sugar

lumps from a cafe-goer's saucer! at night the Heliosphere becomes a giant lantern.

The Heliosphere can also be stationed during your event as a piece of multimedia art
