About FIX MY PIC

The purpose of this group is to bring together those in need of photo editing, and those who enjoy editing photos. You may join this group as a Poster or Editor, or both.

Guidelines for Posters

Post a photo into the group pool that you would like to be fixed, improved, restored, changed, manipulated, or Photoshopped.

Members may have a maximum of 4 photos in the pool at any one time.
You may elect to self-manage your group of 4 photos--removing a photo from the pool after it has been edited to your satisfaction in order to add a new photo. Or you may leave the photos in the pool until they filter out and are removed by the Group Administrator.

* You may suggest ways you would or would not like your photo to be fixed.
* You may insist that any fixes are uploaded as private so they can only be seen by our group members
* You may request that Fixers not post edited versions of your photo to other Flickr groups or websites.

Make your desires clear in the photo's description before posting to the group. However, know that too many restrictions may hamper the number of Fixers your photo may attract.

Give it a little bit of time. When the editors have worked their magic on your photo you will find the resulting work in the Comment section of the photo, and also in the I FIXED YOUR PIC group pool. Some editors also post to the "Before and After" Discussion thread for the current month.

Photos will receive a better level of 'fixing' if they are original, unedited versions. If you have already performed some editing, please state what your further requirements are. There may be occasions when you have worked on your own photo, but aren't quite satisfied with the result. In these instances, it will be beneficial to you and the Fixers to know what further work you would like done. Otherwise you may find your images being ignored.

Additional Info

1. Posting a photo into the FIX MY PIC group grants permission to create derivatives.

2. Posters can have up to four photos in the group pool at any one time.

3. Photos to be fixed should only be posted to the group pool, and not in a discussion thread.

4. Posters should try and post high resolution images and ensure that the "All Sizes" option is available. Please see this discussion for ways to make the largest size of your photo available.

5. Posters may not add to the pool:

* Nudity (or porn) of any kind! This is a family friendly group :)

* Line art, illustrations, cartoons, or other creative artwork.

* Images that belong to ten or more groups, including FIX MY PIC. This group exists to help others who may not be familiar with editing software or feel they have the necessary skills just yet. If you are posting simply to garner extra hits for your photo, this is not the group for you. Your photo(s) will be swiftly removed and your membership revoked.

6. If you have subsequently replaced the original photo in your stream with an edited version, then you must remove your entry from the pool of FIX MY PIC as it no longer requires attention.


Be Courteous
If you submit a picture to be fixed, leaving a word of thanks or feedback on any results would be greatly appreciated. Not only is this courteous, but it provides interesting information on just what "fixed" means to different people. And remember...fixers are doing this for your benefit. They are spending some considerable time and effort 'fixing' your photo and the least we can do is thank them :-)

How did they do that?
Feel free to ask the Fixer how and what they did to your photo. They may not always remember, but if they do I'm sure most will be more than happy to share that information with you.

Pool Cleaning
The FIX MY PIC pool is cleaned on a regular basis to remove photos that have been fixed and photos that have not attracted the interest of Fixers. If your photo received little or no attention prior to it's removal feel free to repost the image again. But only one more time! No point trying to flog a dead horse ;-)

Guidelines for Photo Editors

Edit as many photos as you like from the Fix My Pic group pool.

* Open the photo
* Click "All Sizes"
* For best results, save a copy of the highest resolution available to your computer

Edit the photo, paying close attention to any instructions or restrictions applied to the photo by the owner.

Before Posting your edited work:
You must credit the original photographer and clearly identify your work as fixed version for the Fix My Pic group.

* Post a link crediting the photographer in the Description under your fixed work. The link should lead to the original image posted in the photographer's photostream.

* Post a thumbnail copy of the original photo in the Comment section under your fixed work.

Only then may you post your work into the "Before and After" Discussion thread, or to the I FIXED YOUR PIC group pool.


By nature this group is not about competition. We urge members to work together and help each other out with advice, opinions and by offering different versions of the posted photos.

Additional Group Guidelines for Everyone

Images posted to the pool by Posters or Fixers-- simply to state a view or opinion, or make a point about any topic or issue (whether online or in the real world) is not acceptable. Campaigning of any nature is not permitted. There are more appropriate places to do this and FIX MY PIC is not one of them.

Offending images will be removed from the pool as soon as it comes to the attention of Admin or Moderators. As a courtesy, the member will be contacted and reminded of the rules. But we ask that you all show the group courtesy by not breaking them ;-)

Members that violate the Guidelines on more than two occasions will be removed from the group.

Whilst rules are necessary to maintain a happy, productive group.......Admins & Moderators reserve the right to use collective discretion on any decisions.


Guidelines are subject to change at any time. As the group evolves so will the Guidelines. Be sure to check back periodically for updates.


We are always open to ideas and suggestions. Submit them to the Group Admin or Moderator.

Acerca de FIX MY PIC

El fin de este grupo es juntar a quienes necesitan ayuda editando fotos y a quienes les gusta editar fotos. Pueden unirse al grupo tanto para publicar fotos (Posters) como para editar (Fixers), o ambos.

Guía para Posters.

Publica una foto en la colección del grupo que te gustaría que arreglen, mejoren, restauren, cambien, manipulen o photoshopeen.

Los miembros pueden publicar hasta un máximo de 4 fotos en la colección del grupo por vez.

Tu controlas cuales 4 fotos publicar y una vez editada como deseabas tienes la opción de removerlas del grupo para luego agregar más. También puedes dejarlas hasta que un Administrador del grupo las borre ya que FIX MY PIC se limpia regularmente.

* Puedes sugerir en que forma te gustaría o no que editen tu foto.

* Puedes aclarar que cualquier edición en una foto tuya sea luego cargada como privada y solo pueda ser vista por miembros del grupo.

* Puedes pedirle a los Fixers que no publiquen la versión editada de tu foto en otros grupos de Flickr o websites.

Especifica claramente tus deseos antes de publicar fotos en la colección del grupo. Y ten en cuenta que cuantas más restricciones pongas es probable que haya menos personas interesadas en editar tu foto.

Dale un poco de tiempo. Cuando los editores hayan hecho su magia con tu foto veras el resultado en la sección de comentarios de tu foto y también en el grupo I FIXED YOUR PIC. Algunos editores también las publican en el foro de discusión mensual de "Before and After" (Antes y Después)

Las fotos tendrán un nivel más alto de edición si las versiones originales no han sido previamente editadas. Si ya les has hecho alguna edición, especifica que te gustaría que agreguen. Quizá en algunas ocasiones cuando has trabajado en tu propia foto no te sientes del todo satisfecho con el resultado, en estos casos seria beneficioso para ti y el Fixer saber que otras cosas te gustaría hacerle a la foto. En caso contrario es posible que tu foto sea ignorada.


Información adicional.

1. Publicando fotos en FIX MY PIC, estamos ya dando permiso de crear derivados de esa foto.

2. Posters pueden publicar hasta cuatro fotos por vez.

3. Las fotos para editar deben ser publicadas solo en la colección del grupo, no en los foros de discusión.

4. Posters deberán tratar de publicar imágenes de alta definición y asegurarse que la opción de “All Sizes” (todos los tamaños) este activa.

5. Posters no pueden publicar al grupo:

* Desnudos (o pornografía) de ningún tipo! Se supone que es un grupo familiar y para todas las edades : )

* Ilustraciones, comics, u otros trabajos artístico-creativos. No tenemos nada en contra pero no cumplen con el fin del grupo.

*Imágenes que pertenezcan a diez o mas grupos, incluyendo FIX MY PIC. Este grupo existe para ayudar a otros que no están familiarizados con programas de edición o sienten que aun no tienen la habilidad necesaria para editarlo ellos mismos. Si estas publicando solo para recibir mas visitas a tu foto, este no es el grupo para ti.

6. Si has reemplazado tu foto original por una versión editada entonces deberás borrar la foto de la colección del grupo de FIX MY PIC ya que no necesita más dedicación.

Se cortés.

Si publicas una foto para que sea editada, decir gracias en la sección comentarios de cada foto editada será bien apreciado. No solo es cortés sino que además nos da una pauta de lo que cada persona considera que significa “editar”. Y recuerda… los Fixers están haciendo esto para ti, están dedicando un tiempo considerable y esfuerzo a "editar” tu foto y lo menos que podemos hacer es agradecerlo :-)

Como han hecho eso?

Siéntete libre de preguntarle al Fixer como y que le hizo a tu foto. Es probable que no siempre lo recuerden, pero si lo recuerdan estoy segura que la mayoría estará más que feliz de compartir esa información contigo.

Limpieza de la colección.

La colección de FIX MY PIC se limpia regularmente de fotos que ya han sido editadas o fotos que no han llamado mucho la atención. Si tu foto no recibió la atención deseada, espera un tiempo y vuelve a publicarla. Pero solo una vez más, no tiene sentido azotar un caballo muerto. ;-)

Guía para Editores

Edita cuantas fotos quieras de la colección de FIX MY PIC .

* Abre la foto
* Cliquéa "All Sizes"
* Para mejores resultados elige la versión mas grande

Edita la foto prestando atención a cualquier instrucción o restricción especificada por el dueño de la foto.

Antes de publicar tu trabajo editado:

Debes mencionar al fotógrafo original y claramente identificar tu trabajo como una versión editada para FIX MY PIC.
* Publica un link al fotógrafo en la descripción de tu trabajo editado, el link deberá llevarte a la foto original.

* Pon una copia pequeña del original en la sección comentarios bajo la foto editada por ti.

Solo entonces puedes publicar tu trabajo en el foro "Before and After" (Antes y Después) o en I FIXED YOUR PIC.


Este grupo no es competitivo. Les pedimos a los miembros que trabajen juntos y se ayuden mutuamente con consejos, opiniones y ofreciendo diferentes versiones de las fotos publicadas.

Guía adicional del grupo para todos.

Hacer campaña política o de cualquier tipo (ya sea real u online) con fotos o en el foro que pudiese generar roces entre miembros no esta permitido, mas allá de que los Administradores puedan o no compartir tus puntos de vista preferimos dejar el grupo fuera de conflictos políticos, religiosos, morales, etc.

Imágenes que ofendan serán eliminadas de la colección del grupo nomás verlas por Administradores o Moderadores. Como cortesía el miembro que haya publicado dicha foto recibirá un mail para que recuerde las reglas. Pero preferiríamos que estas situaciones ni siquiera se presenten siendo ustedes corteses desde el principio. ;-)
Miembros que violen las reglas en más de dos ocasiones serán invitados a retirarse del grupo.

Creemos que tener reglas es necesario para mantener un grupo feliz y productivo… Administradores y Moderadores se reservan el derecho de usar criterio colectivo para tomar decisiones puntuales.

Estas guías están sujetas a sufrir cambios en cualquier momento. Así como el grupo ira evolucionando, también lo harán las guías. Asegúrate de revisar si hay actualizaciones periódicamente.
