*올초 닛산이 한국진출을 발표하며 많은 큐브 매니아들에게 기대감을 안겼었는데요. 불행히 박스카 큐브는 수입대상 목록에서 제외되었습니다. 시장성때문일까요. 미국수출은 확정되어 좌핸들 큐브 생산라인이 가동되고 있다고 합니다. 박스카가 다소 생소한 한국에서의 시장성이 불투명했던 걸까요. 효리덕분에 브랜드 호감도와 인지도가 꽤 많이 상승해있을터인데. ... 말이죠. 그나저나 큐브 국내진출시 모델은 효리가 따논 당상이군요 :) 서른다섯 즈음되서 국내 수입이 결정되면, 이미 다른 차량으로 눈이 돌아가 있을텐데 . -_-;;; 아쉽지만 저랑은 타이밍이 잘 않맞는 차인것 같습니다.

Nissan Releases Three-Row Cube³ (Cube Cubic)

Tokyo -- Nissan Motor Co., Ltd., today announced the domestic release of the three-row Cube³ (Cube Cubic).

Developed around the concept of "a compact three-row vehicle with outstanding practicality," the Cube³ is uniquely distinguished by the following principal features:

 ·  Super three-row packaging
Within the car's compact overall length of 3,900 mm, the cabin achieves one of the highest levels of interior efficiency in this class. The Cube³ is appointed with comfortable, sofa-like seats, one of the Cube's salient features. Though compact in body size, the knee room and headroom in the second- and third-row seats allow ample space for accommodating adults comfortably. The large rear-door opening combines with simple and easy seat operations for enhanced ease of ingress/egress to and from the second- and third-row seats. In addition, a minimum turning radius of 4.7 meters ensures agile maneuverability for easy and comfortable driving in town.

 ·  Super convenience
Versatile seating arrangements can be configured in very simple operations to match the number of occupants and the purpose of use. The interior also abounds in handy storage places for stowing things away neatly, another unique feature of the Cube.

 ·  Super coordination
Two interior colors and eight body colors combine to give users a wide selection of 16 attractive color coordination schemes for personalizing color combinations. Meticulous attention has been paid even to the colors of the control switches.

Origin of the model name
The model name Cube³ comes from the English word "cubic", indicating the unit of volume or capacity. Cube³ Overview
1. Design
The design expresses the themes of "warmth," "gentleness," and "premium quality," based on the concept of the New Cubic Design that optimally harmonizes the motifs of "individuality," "function" and "user attachment."

 ·  Exterior
In addition to the laterally asymmetrical design, which achieves both individuality and function, the exterior styling is distinguished by the unique body proportions that convey a sense of high class and poised stability.

 ·  Interior
The interior has been specifically created around a "functional design that is enjoyable to use," while at the same time securing relaxing roominess and a sense of warmth. In line with this concept, the design incorporates a wealth of easy-to-use storage places for stowing things away neatly. In addition, seats with sofa-like comfort, one of the Cube's distinguishing features, are provided even in the third row to ensure excellent occupant comfort. Two interior color choices combine with eight body colors to offer users a selection of 16 variations from which they can freely choose the color coordination combination that suits their personal preferences and style.

2. Packaging
The "Cubic Package" concept creates a spacious interior within a compact overall body length of 3,900 mm to provide roomy comfort even for the third-row seat occupants.

A minimum turning radius of 4.7 meters, for both the 14" and 15" tire models, makes the Cube3 exceptionally agile to maneuver and easy to drive.

Both the second- and third-row seats have ample knee room and headroom to accommodate even adults comfortably.

Access to the second- and third-row seats has been enhanced by enlarging the opening of the rear door to allow more space for the upper body to pass through.

The three elements of ample knee room, generous headroom and a suitable height from the floor to the hip point (heel level difference) are optimally balanced to make the third-row seat one of the most hospitable of any in this vehicle class.

The third-row seat is among the widest in this class, boasting a width of 990 mm.

The height of the hip point from the ground in the driver's seat has been set at 625 mm to allow excellent forward visibility and entry/exit ease. The seat also incorporates a ratchet-type lifter that moves the cushion vertically as much as 40 mm, enabling users of various statures to enjoy the optimal driving position.

3. Outstanding practicality
The second-row seat, with a 60:40 split seatback, incorporates independent sliding, reclining and walk-in features on both sides to enable easy access to the third-row seat even when the second row is fitted with a child seat on one side.

On either side of the second-row seat is a lever for activating the walk-in feature when entering the third-row seat, and a walk-in feature pedal for egress use is provided behind the seat on both sides. With just one simple action, the second-row seat slides ahead and the seatback tilts forward. In addition, when the seatback is returned to its original position, the walk-in memory function automatically slides the second-row seat to the memorized position for easy ingress to the seat, while also allowing ample space for the third-row seat occupants.

The third-row seat is set up by simply pulling a strap on the seatback to raise it and then inserting the head restraints. This remarkably simple operation makes it possible to accommodate seven occupants in no time. When not in use, the seat stows under the floor to form a flat, convenient cargo area. Folding down the second-row seat as well creates an even larger, flat cargo bay, featuring no lift-over height at the back opening for easier loading and unloading.

The highly versatile seating arrangements can be conveniently configured to match the number of occupants and the purpose of use, and the interior abounds with a variety of handy storage places.

Another convenience feature is the Intelligent Key system that enables users to lock/unlock the doors and to start/stop the engine simply by carrying the key fob with them.

Also available as an optional feature is Nissan's CARWINGS telematics service that gives users the benefits of "enjoyable connectivity" and "peace of mind connectivity" .

4. Mechanisms
The Cube³ is powered by the CR14DE engine that achieves an optimum balance of impressive qualities, including low fuel consumption, clean exhaust emissions, high power and torque, quiet operation and a compact, lightweight design.

The transmissions offered incorporate an optimum control system tuned specifically for the Cube³ to deliver ample power performance, with emphasis on powerful start-off and passing acceleration in both city and suburban driving.

The XTRONIC CVT-M6 continuously variable transmission with a 6-speed manual shift mode combines smooth acceleration with enhanced fuel economy. Steering wheel-mounted switches enable the driver to upshift or downshift with one thumb. A Sporty mode switch is also provided that facilitates exceptionally quick downshifts by merely pressing the switch.

The chassis consists of a front strut suspension and an H-type torsion beam suspension at the rear. With stiffer front and rear stabilizer bars, higher rear suspension stiffness and optimized shock absorber damping rates and spring constants, the Cube³ delivers an exceptionally comfortable ride combined with superb handling and stability.

5. Safety and Environmental Friendliness
All models come with Nissan's front-seat Active Head Restraints as standard safety equipment.

In addition to standard SRS airbag systems for the driver's seat and passenger's seat, side airbag systems for the driver's seat and passenger's seat and SRS side curtain airbag systems that protect the heads of front- and rear-seat occupants in side collisions are also available as optional equipment.

All Cube³ models are certified as ultra-low emission vehicles (U-LEVs)*1 because they reduce exhaust emissions by 75% from the levels mandated under Japan's 2000 exhaust emission regulations. They also comply with Japan's 2010 fuel economy standards to qualify for tax reductions*2 under the Green Tax program.

*1The low-emission certification system of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport was inaugurated on April 1, 2000, to promote the diffusion of low-emission vehicles through their selection by ordinary consumers. To qualify for U-LEV certification, a vehicle must reduce nitrogen oxide (NOx) and hydrocarbon (HC) emissions by an additional 75% from the levels required by Japan's 2000 exhaust emission regulations.

*2For vehicles complying with the requirements of the Green Tax program, the automobile acquisition tax on newly registered vehicles for personal use is reduced by 15,000 yen until March 31, 2004, and for U-LEVs the automobile tax is reduced by 50% for one year beginning from the next fiscal year after a vehicle is registered. However, these tax reduction measures do not apply to the vehicles handled by Autech Japan, Inc.

Autech Japan Releases Cube³ Rider and LV Series Models

Autech Japan, Inc., a Nissan affiliate, today announced the domestic release of the Cube³ Rider, a model featuring special vehicle specifications, which it has newly customized in conjunction with the roll-out of the three-row Cube³.

In addition, to Nissan's lineup of lifecare vehicles (LVs)*, Autech Japan has also added new Cube3 Enchante models designed for easy ingress/egress to and from the front passenger's seat and Cube³ Driving Helper models fitted with special driving assistance features that are primarily intended to enable persons with leg disabilities to drive.

*Nissan Group companies use the term lifecare vehicle (LV) to refer to vehicles that are specifically designed to assist people with special mobility needs in their daily lives.

Overview of Cube³ Rider

The new Cube³ Rider adds the elements of "premium quality" and "user attachment" to the unique individuality imparted to the exterior by its aero parts. In addition to these elements, the bright half-pipe grille also contributes to the creation of a fresh design befitting this new-generation Rider.

Interior appointments include a genuine leather-wrapped steering wheel, exclusive silver-colored seat fabric and black-colored door trim fabric, and exclusive bright instrument panel moldings with a grill design motif. These and other interior features combine with the distinctive exterior styling to create a product exuding unique character and stellar quality.

Overview of Cube³ LV Series Models
Enchante Manual Flap Seat Model
Attached to the side of the seat cushion, the "flap seat" folds upward to form an auxiliary cushion that extends the overall cushion area. This allows the occupant to sit further toward the outside of the vehicle, enabling both legs to be positioned in front of the body for entering and exiting easily in a natural posture. Two "flap seat" versions are available, the Passenger's Seat Type and the Driver's Seat Type.

 Enchante Swivel Front Passenger's Seat Model
On this model, an easy-to-operate lever swivels the front passenger's seat toward the outside, and the seat can also be slid further outside the vehicle. By eliminating any twisting of the body, this seat greatly reduces ingress/egress effort. A passenger's side assist grip is provided as standard equipment for easier entry/exit.

 Enchante Slide-out Lift Front Passenger's Seat Model
The front passenger's seat can be swiveled to the outside and lowered/raised, all with the aid of an electric motor, which noticeably reduces the effort of transferring between a wheelchair and the vehicle. Inside the vehicle, the passenger's seat also slides fore- and- aft under motor power, allowing easy adjustment of the seat position for overall enhancement of interior comfort.

Enchante Series models can also be fitted with a motor-powered wheelchair lift, available as a dealer option, for loading a heavy chair into the luggage area without having to pick it up manually.

Cube³ Driving Helper with Autech Driving Control Package Type e or Autech Driving Control Package
These models feature a package of controls designed principally to enable users with leg disabilities to operate the accelerator and brakes with their hands only.

The Autech Driving Control Package Type e adopts an electronic control system for the control lever used to operate the accelerator, which achieves a more compact device with improved operating smoothness. Featuring a black and silver motif, the control lever combines genuine leather with aluminum, and the steering wheel knob is also wrapped in genuine leather, giving the control package a sporty and novel design.

The Autech Driving Control Package comprises a set of manually operated controls that have been highly popular since they were first released. Control-by-wire technology is employed to operate the accelerator. The control lever wood and the steering knob wood are beautifully designed to give the control package a luxurious appearance.

A "chair lift" is available as an option for loading a wheelchair, weighing up to approximately 20 kg, easily into the cargo bay without picking it up manually. Another available option is a manually operated "driver's flap seat" that serves as an auxiliary seat cushion for easy transfer between the seat and a wheelchair.

The Enchante Swivel Front Passenger's Seat and Slide-out Lift Front Passenger's Seat models are exempt from consumption tax when equipped with the motor-powered wheelchair lift available as a dealer-installed option.
