입체그림의 세계적인 거장, 트레이시 리스텀(Tracy Lee Stum)
올해 3월경, 명동 신세계백화점 본관앞 광장에 전시되었던 트레이시 리스텀의 '본관신화탄생'. 빨간펜스가 거부감으로 다가와 아쉬웠지만, 그의 작품을 눈앞에서 볼수 있다는 사실만으로도 충분히 기뻤다. 가만히 들여다보면, 상업과 결부된 그림이라 어쩔수 없이, 백화점에 손을 뻗고있는 신과 현대적 백화점 건물의 양상이 좀 아이러니하며 억지스럽지만, 트레이시는 분명 신세계를 상징하는 그 어떤 아이콘이나 심벌을 그려넣고 싶었을 것이라고 감히 예상해본다. 아마도 모부장님의의 의견이 반영된것 같다.
